All praise and glory to The One True Lord and Messiah Jesus Christ to whom I owe all of everything to. This story is the result of The Lord. I take no credit nor am I boasting.
After I was released from the hospital I was still unsure where I was going. I could not go back to the sober house. Rich had given me some information abut an organization called Oasis that might be able to help me with a place until I get back on my feet.
My money was beginning to run out but since I was discharged from the hospital on a Sunday, I would have to wait until Monday to get in contact with Oasis. I had no choice but to spend the evening in a hotel. The hotel was comfortable but I was anxious at first. “Here I am again. I drank away my shelter and my employment. Money is getting low. What am I going to do?”
But then it struck me that I don’t have to worry about anything. I have faith that God will provide no matter what. That His will, will be done. I can’t trust in myself. I trust God. So I had a very comfortable evening, mentally. I was still very shaky on my legs from being in the hospital bed for 3 days. (I am still not totally physically sound) Another issue was that part of recovery from the detoxification for me is sleeplessness. My mind wasn’t racing I just couldn’t sleep. So I waited until the morning to contact Oasis.
I called Oasis in the morning and spoke to Nina (The same name as my children’s mother). She told me she would put my information in and check availability and call me back. She phoned me abut 45 minutes later and asked if I could be there at 11am. Timing was perfect 11am is checkout time at the hotel.
I drove over and walked in. I mentioned my appointment and she introduced herself as Lisa which is the nickname I use for my sister Elisa. We spoke about my situation and went over rules of the temporary housing. All was well so I came to the housing unit, an old motel. Which happens to be directly behind my previous employer. When I say directly. I mean 150ft behind it. I decided to go in and ask for my job back. I also made arrangements to pick up my property from the sober house.
I settled in then ran some errands. The housing requires we keep minimal objects in our rooms. I have a bit more than would fit in here so I would have to rent a storage unit. After securing the unit online, I headed to the sober house, picked up my things and drove back home, it was late and I was finally tired. Also, It was cold and rainy, a miserable day to move anything. Thank the Lord I didn’t have too much because the next day’s weather would prove to be the same.
The next morning I woke up refreshed, the detoxification process was winding down rapidly. I organized my things to minimize my possessions here. My Bible, a devotional, my clothes, shoes, 2 laptops, a tablet, 2 cell phones. The rest went in my car and to storage. It was actually a good feeling to be unencumbered by my things It was also nice to have my car totally empty except for essentials.
While I was at Walmart picking up a lock for the storage unit I got a phone call from my previous manager, at the job directly in front of the motel. She agreed to bring me back. Money was tight, but now I had a job I could walk to in less than 2 minutes. Gas would not be an issue immediately. It was Tuesday and I would start on Thursday with paperwork etc.
One thing I failed to mention is my location, which is actually integral to this story because this isn’t an accident. God has placed me here to fulfill a purpose at this season in my life. I do not know what it is, but I am abiding in The Will of The Lord. Whatever happens in my life will not be dictated by my sinful nature anymore. I have completely surrendered to The Lord. My entire life is guided by Him.
So not only am I 150ft from work. I am a mile from church, and a 2 minute drive to Saturday morning Bible Study.

I feel so blessed and confident that The Lord is at work in my life. This is undeniable. The coincidences, the placement, the circumstance. All gifts from God. All pointing me down the road to a righteous life. A life of service to The Lord, service to others, humility, repentance, and joy in my salvation. My salvation paid for by The Blood of The Almighty Jesus Christ.
Thank you Lord for all you have given me. I long to be closer to you, to learn more, to grow more with You. I have been given a new life by God and I praise his name in all I do. I love The Lord with all my heart and urge deeply to turn from sin at all times, in all circumstances. All for the glory of The Lord. Praise Jesus. For all eternity His name will be above all others and will be worshiped, adored, and honored.
